Crossfit = Happy Life :)

Just completed the 2nd week of Onramp class and must say, I am loving it!  The first week I went was a free trial. I went two days in a row and could hardly walk for 3 days after.  Truth be told, that scared the shit out of me.  I sucked it up and went the next week.  Told myself, I will only go to the 2 days a week (Tues & Thurs) they have Onramp. Thought I should “Ease” into it.  So far, I’m happy to say, I haven’t been sore much at all.  I think I am ready to up the frequency to at least 3-4 days a week.  Waking up at 4:45am hasn’t been an issue at all either and that is freaking awesome!  I know I’m just starting out but I’m already finding myself wanting to improve.   My Squats, suck bad! I can’t get as low as I want…but I know I will!  I thought for sure my confidence or will to improve would have been overcome by the defeatist attitude I feel I’ve had since my early 30’s and gaining weight, but sure as shit I think starting this CrossFit journey has helped me tremendously in ridding that ugly habit! Positive Self-talk is a REALLY GOOD tool!  There are article on Crossfit Journal about it.  Crossfit is ALREADY helping me with different aspects of my life! So freaking exciting! :)

This is just a small win but it’s a win nonetheless:  Before starting this journey, I would ALWAYS wear this black hoodie everywhere I went. I was trying to cover myself up. It was such a burden. Mind you, I live in South Texas… and in the spring it is in the 90’s!!!  lol  Well, I just realized for the past 2 weeks, I haven’t put that damn thing on.   Though I am sure my body hasn’t changed that much YET,  I honestly feel more confident about myself!

With the bricks I shit before the WOD I could build a house (sorry- I know, not very lady like)  BUT when I’m done, after giving it my all… I can live in that freaking house comfortably!  :)

Any of you thinking about starting CrossFit, TRUST me when I say, it will be the BEST thing you could ever do for yourself! Just knowing you’re doing something about your health and weight or whatnot, will give you the confidence to continue on. YOU CAN DO IT!!  Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!

P.S. I’d like to thank all the CF bloggers for all your inspiration and information! <3<3<3

Did you know??

Someone I follow in FB posted this.  I think it’s good info! :) Sorry- do not know it’s original source.

DID YOU KNOW???

Maltodextrin, an ingredient found in many artificial sweeteners including Splenda, Equal & many many Stevia products has a Glycemic Index (GI) of over 100 and a Glycemic Load (GL) of over 50. Both of these forms of measurements take into account the degree to which your blood sugar rises after consumption.

To put this into perspective, anything over 70 is ranked ‘high’ on the GI scale, and anything over 20 is ranked high on the ‘GL’ scale.

On both scales, Maltodextrin is OFF THE CHARTS! Be cautious. Whenever you consume products with this ingredients, your blood sugar is spiking and likely dropping just as fast. This is TOTALLY not good for fat loss.

My recommendation for artificial sweeteners - Sugar Twin, Organic Stevia or Stevia without maltodextrin (check indgredients).
